In capturing the sinking of the Taiping in 1949, not to mention all-out war, through a handful of different relationships, John Woo looks to have his most epic film yet on his hands with The Crossing. Shot in 3D and being released in two parts in China — the first on December 2nd, and the second in early 2015 — after getting a preview, the first trailer has now arrived.
Tracking the story of three couples, played by Zhang Ziyi, Song Hye-kyo, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Huang Xiaoming, Tong Dawei, and Masami Nagasawa, this new preview showcases insanely large spectacle. Written by Hui-Ling Wang (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Lust Caution), hopefully the drama here effectively works the action. Although no U.S. date has been set yet, check out the new trailer below.
