In perhaps their strangest combination of talent yet, the horror production company Blumhouse has teamed Jiro Dreams of Sushi director David Gelb with independent star Mark Duplass, Olivia Wilde, Evan Peters, and Community‘s Donald Glover to rouse up some scares. The Lazarus Effect, as the title suggests, follows a group of medical students who discover a way to bring dead patients back to life.
The first trailer has now arrived which very much feels like something out of the mind of Jason Blum. As someone who has grown a bit tired of the familiarity with his non-stop output I’m at the very least interested to see if this unexpected creative group can produce a worthwhile horror feature. Set for a release next month, check out the trailer and poster below.
