‘Kill List’ Trailer

Written by on July 20, 2011

One of the most talked-about movies at this year’s SXSW was the British thriller Kill List, which is written and directed by Down Terrace helmer Ben Wheatley. This is a film that I didn’t know too much about before watching the trailer, and after giving the preview a look… well, I still don’t know too much about the film.

That’s because this preview is mostly made up of shots and music that one could describe as, to put it lightly, ominous, with the editing combining the two into an intense experience. So, the plot only seems to be suggested — with the biggest hint coming in the form of a quote describing it as a hitman movie — but in no way do I see that as a negative. I’m trying to avoid any real story details before I actually get to check out the thing, which should happen when it sees a release from IFC Midnight later this year. If you want a good read, check out Matt Patchesreview from SXSW, which gives a not-too-specific overview of the plot, while still singing its praises. If that’s any indication, we’re in for something pretty amazing.

Watch it below, thanks to TotalFilm (via ThePlaylist):

Kill List stars Neil Maskell, Michael Smiley, Myanna Buring and Emma Fryer.

What do you think of this trailer? Does it make you want to see the movie, or do you want to know more about the plot?
