In a bit of perfect casting, Kevin Kline recently stepped up to play Hollywood icon Errol Flynn in a new biopic, bur rather than focusing on his swashbuckling days, the project takes a look at his final moments. The Last of Robin Hood comes from directors Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland (Quinceanera) and the first trailer has landed today.

Premiering at TIFF last fall, the drama tracks his final days before passing away after a heart attack at the relatively young age of 50. Things get more complicated when the story opens up about his relationship with 17 year-old Beverly Aadland, an actress who was allegedly seduced by Flynn when she was only 15 years old. Check it out below along with the poster for the film also starring Susan Sarandon and Dakota Fanning.

Errol Flynn, the swashbuckling Hollywood star and notorious ladies’ man, flouted convention all his life, but never more brazenly than in his last years when, swimming in vodka and unwilling to face his mortality, he undertook a liaison with an aspiring actress, Beverly Aadland. The two had a high-flying affair that spanned the globe and was enabled by the girl’s fame-obsessed mother, Florence. It all came crashing to an end in October 1959, when events forced the relationship into the open, sparking an avalanche of publicity castigating Beverly and her mother – which only fed Florence’s need to stay in the spotlight. THE LAST OF ROBIN HOOD is a story about the desire for fame and the price it exacts.
