While they can be seen weekly on New Girl, Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. have also recently teamed for a feature comedy and today the first trailer has landed. Let’s Be Cops follows the duo as buddies who decide to go to what they think is a costume party as police officers. Instead, they take the gag further and spend what looks to be more than a few days as cops.
Directed by Luke Greenfield (The Girl Next Door), it looks to be playing up a sort of reverse 21 Jump Street, and there’s definitely a few laughs to be had in this trailer, even if it’s a bit broad. Coming from 20th Century Fox in August, check it out below for the film also starring Nina Dobrev, Andy Garcia, Rob Riggle, James D’Arcy, and Keegan-Michael Key.
