Following his successful, Oscar-winning drama The Great Beauty, director Paolo Sorrentino is back this year with a new feature, one that brings together Michael Caine, Rachel Weisz, Harvey Keitel and Paul Dano. All but locked for the Cannes Film Festival, ahead of an Italian release on May 21st, we now have the first sumptuous trailer for Youth.

The story follows Fred and Mick — one a long retired composer-conductor, the other a still-jobbing film director — who are vacationing together in an elegant hotel in the lap of the Alps. Sensing their time could be quickly running out, they decide to face the future together as they discuss their children’s confused lives, the enthusiasm of Mick’s young writers, and their respective careers. Ahead of the Cannes line-up announcement this Thursday, check out the trailer below.

Youth will likely premiere at Cannes and be released in the U.S. in late 2015.
