In a world where franchises never die, it was clear Warner Bros. wasn’t going to close out the Harry Potter series after it brought them nearly $8 billion. Since a reboot was out of the question, they turned to the next best thing: a spin-off. Ahead of a release next November, today now brings the first preview for Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.
Scripted by J.K. Rowling and featuring the return of director David Yates (who helmed the final four films), this new film follows Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, the wizarding world’s preeminent magizoologist, who stops in New York following his travels to find and document magical creatures.
Also starring Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove, and Colin Farrell, check out the first teaser trailer below, along with the poster.
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them will be released on November 18, 2016.
