For a film that has yet to even confirm a US release date, the marketing for Maniac has already been a little overkill. The Elijah Wood-led serial killer film from Cannes has already delivered two trailers and its entire initial six minutes, but ahead of its UK debut next month, we’ve got yet another trailer from the project. This one is shorter and sweeter, getting to the brutality on display in Franck Khalfoun‘s remake. While the first-person point-of-view angle seems like a good deal I fun, I hope it doesn’t wear out its gimmick quickly. Check out the trailer below for the film that should be hitting US theaters by the end of the year.
Just when the streets seemed safe, a serial killer with a fetish for scalps is back and on the hunt. Frank is the withdrawn owner of a mannequin store, but his life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank’s obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill.
Also starring Nora Arnezeder and written by Alexandre Aja, C.A. Rosenberg, and Grégory Levasseur, Maniac hits UK theaters on March 15th.
