It’s seems like we’ve been hearing about the next film from 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo for quite some time. Shot back in the summer of 2010, the horror film Intruders will finally see a release this spring after a tepid response at Toronto International Film Festival. Clive Owen stars as a father who is dealing with demons his daughter (Carice van Houten) comes across.

Co-starring Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds), we have a new trailer today and it looks to contain some genuinely frightening visuals. I wish Owen picked better roles, but when it comes to horror, I’d take this over the shlocky torture porn we are used to getting in the genre. Check out the new tease below.

Synopsis:

In London, Mia (Ella Purnell), an 11 yeared-old girl on the brink of adolescence, discovers the power of storytelling as she captivates her classmates with a disturbing tale of a blank faced ghoul called Hollowface who tries to steal the features of children as he craves contact with the human world. Mia, too, becomes convinced that her story has crossed over from the realms of imagination into reality and that she has unwittingly unleashed a malevolent force into the world. At night, she is haunted by horrifically graphic nightmares.

Intruders hits theaters March 30th, 2012.
