With many complaints of Will Ferrell fatigue just over a year ago, the actor has stepped down from the spotlight for a brief moment, only appearing in the overlooked Everything Must Go last year. He is back in a bay way though, with his political comedy Dog Fight (our first look here) and a cameo in Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie. In between that, his Spanish-language experiment Casa de mi Padre will be released.

After a brief teaser, we have the full-length trailer today. Casa de mi padre also stars Gael Garcia Bernal & Diego Luna and follows Ferrell as a Mexican hero, fighting baddies, saving ladies and playing some music. Just as he is fully embracing some of his past SNL political sketches with Dog Fight, this looks to be fleshing out absolutely everything we’d want in a parody like this. Check it out below.

Synopsis:

Armando Alvarez (Will Ferrell) has lived and worked on his father’s ranch in Mexico his entire life. As the ranch faces financial strains, Armando’s younger brother Raul (Diego Luna) shows up with his new fiancee, Sonia (Genesis Rodriguez) and pledges to settle all his father’s debts. It seems that Raul’s success as an international businessman means the ranch’s troubles are over, but when Armando falls for Sonia, and Raul’s business dealings turn out to be less than legit, the Alvarez family finds themselves in a full-out war with Mexico’s most feared drug lord, the mighty Onza (Gael Garcia Bernal).

Casa de mi Padre hits theaters March 16th, 2012.
