‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ Goes Red Band In New Trailer

Written by on May 24, 2012

I don’t think this is going to work for me. I’ve been against Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter from the start — a middling director, a bad director producing, trashy source material from a complete hack being some big problems — and that hasn’t been enough to deter my finding the first two trailers at leat slightly tolerable. The new, red band preview from IGN brings plenty of gore and more shots of some decent action, but the mere concept — along with those aforementioned other factors — keeps repelling me. Maybe this will work better on FX in two years’ time.

Watch it below:

Synopsis:

The film explores the secret life of our greatest president, and the untold history that shaped our nation. As a young boy, Abraham Lincoln (Benjamin Walker) witnesses the shocking death of his mother, leading him on a path to an ongoing war – and ultimately to the presidency – he chronicles in a hidden diary. The journal reveals the incredible story of a clandestine warrior who never stopped fighting for the country he led and the people he loved.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter stars Benjamin WalkerMary Elizabeth Winstead, Alan Tudyk, Anthony Mackie, Rufus Sewell, Erin Wasson, and Dominic Cooper, and hits theaters on June 22nd.
