The big closing night film of Sundance 2011, The Son of No One, has just gotten a trailer [MTV]. Led by Channing Tatum, the rest of the cast includes Al Pacino, Katie Holmes, Juliette Binoche, Ray Liotta and Tracy Morgan (?). It’s also a reunion between the star and his A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and Fighting director Dito Montiel.

The story focuses on two childhood friends (who grow up to be Tatum and Morgan) who commit a murder which catches up with them 16 years later. Tatum plays a cop, Jonathan “Milk” White (because Milk is…), while Morgan’s character grows up to live on the “other side” of the law. And then White’s assigned to the area where he grew up, forging his wife (Holmes) and young child closer to his dark secret. Al Pacino yells.

The trailer looks formulaic but, overall, solid. Watch it below:
