While we’ve had a few bright spots in comedy this year, Judd Apatow is set to close out 2012 with one of the most promising entries in the genre with his fourth feature film, This is 40. After some promising word from early screenings the film, which follows the life of Knocked Up‘s Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, is now set for a release next month and we’ve got two new pieces from Universal.

First up, they’ve released a four-minute red band featurette, featuring some of the actors and Apatow, mixed in with a good amount of new, raunchy footage. Following that, an original track Fiona Apple recorded for the film, titled Dull Tool, has been released. Check out both the song and the featurette below for the film also starring Megan Fox, John Lithgow, Iris Apatow, Maude Apatow, Melissa McCarthy, Robert Smigel, Charlene Yi and Albert Brooks.

This Is 40 arrives on December 21st.
