If you want to know what a mysterious group of voters think of the cinema of 2018–with little bearing on what will be nominated for Oscars–today is your day. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has delivered their nominations for the 2019 Golden Globes.

Adam McKay’s Vice topped the nominations with six total, while Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Favourite, Bradley Cooper’s A Star is Born, and Peter Farrelly’s Green Book picked up five each. Welcome surprises included Elsie Fisher’s Best Actress nod for Eighth Grade and Mirai earning a Best Animated Feature nomination, while the best score of the year,  Nicholas Britell’s If Beale Street Could Talk, was ignored.
