Tom Hiddleston Leading Untitled Project from ‘Archipelago’ Director Joanna Hogg

Written by on October 5, 2012

Coming off a year which included the third-highest-grossing movie of all time and, let’s not forget, an intimate film helmed by one of his country’s most respected auteurs, Tom Hiddleston has shown that it’s possible to traverse both sides of the acting coin. Moving in line with something akin to the latter, THR tell us he’ll reunite with Unrelated and Archipelago writer-director Joanna Hogg on her third, currently-untitled picture; musician Viv Albertine and conceptual artist Liam Gillick also star.

This “London Project,” as it’s referred to, is a secretive little effort which, in Hogg‘s words, will continue to explore “the blurred line between the comic and the horrendous – but depicting this in an ordinary, everyday context which is closer to home, and therefore more terrifying.” Interested? I know I am, though that needs to sustain itself before other news starts to flitter in.

BBC Films, BFI, and Rooks Nest Entertainment will be producing Hogg‘s film. Shooting is expected to start relatively soon.

Does a reteaming of this actor and this director bring great promise, despite few actual facts?
