Do not adjust your glasses — yes, that is Tom Hardy times two in the forthcoming gangster drama Legend. Kicking off production this week in London, Working Title has now dropped the first image, which sees the Bronson star taking on the dual roles of twins Ron and Reggie Kray.

Coming from writer-director Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential), the story follows the duo in the 1960’s as told in John Pearson’s book The Profession of Violence. Also featuring Emily Browning, David Thewlis, Christopher Eccleston, Chazz Palminteri, Tara Fitzgerald, and Taron Egerton, there’s no U.S. distribution yet, but one can see an Amazon synopsis below and the still above.

Reggie and Ronald Kray ruled London’s gangland during the 1960s with a ruthlessness and viciousness that shocks even now. Building an empire of organised crime such as nobody has done before or since, the brothers swindled, intimidated, terrorised, extorted and brutally murdered. John Pearson explores the strange relationship that bound the twins together, and charts their gruesome career to their downfall and imprisonment for life in 1969.

Expect a 2015 release for Legend.
