Even before a pair of teasers earlier this year, we were expecting a sequel to Anchorman in 2013 and it looks like Paramount will deliver on that promise, but at the very last second. The studio announced today that following a spring production start, Anchorman: The Legend Continues will arrive in theaters on December 20th, 2013.

That’s right, exactly one year from this very second you may be in the midnight showing line to see the return of our favorite news reporter. Director Adam McKay will bring back Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, David Koechner and Paul Rudd along with other regulars like Christina Applegate, David Koechner, Fred Willard, Fred Armisen and Chris Parnell. While the exact story hasn’t been revealed, we can expect Kristen Wiig to also pop in, along with many, many other newcomers. Welcome back, Ron Burgundy.

In other release date news, Open Road Films, following the success of David Ayer‘s End of Watch this fall, will release his next action thriller titled Ten early in 2014. Led by Arnold Schwarzenegger, the film will land on January 24th, 2014, right around the same timeframe his next actioner The Last Stand hits theaters next year. Also starring Joe Manganiello, Sam Worthington, Harold Perrineau, Terrence Howard, Max Martini, Josh Holloway, Olivia Williams and Mireille Enos, one can see the synopsis and slightly new image below.

In TEN Arnold Schwarzengger leads an elite DEA task force that takes on the world’s deadliest drug cartels. When the team successfully executes a high-stakes raid on a cartel safe house, they think their work is done – until, one-by-one, the ten members mysteriously start to be eliminated.
