Just a day after we learned that Shia LaBeouf was plotting a father-son thriller with Robert De Niro, another team-up of our dreams looks to be coming to fruition. With Brad Pitt set to lead, Sony Pictures recently picked up the World War II actioner Fury for distribution and now Variety has news of LaBeouf’s potential involvement.

According the trade, if talks go through, the Nymphomaniac star would be part of Pitt’s crew in the film set in a 1945 Germany at the tail end of WWII. Directed and written by End of Watch‘s David Ayer, his story follows Allied troops commanded by a martial army sergeant called Wardaddy (Pitt). As the troops who are outnumbered and outgunned make a last ditch effort to drive their way in the European Theater, a Sherman tank and her crew find themselves tapped behind enemy lines on a deadly mission. Led by Wardaddy, the five-man unit finds the cards stacked against them as the attempt to strike at the core of Nazi Germany.

Considering we’ve still got three others to round out the main ensemble, expect some more high-profile casting to come through as production is eying a fall start for its November 14th, 2014 release.
