Much of the recent discussion surrounding David Lynch has to do with the unveiling of a restored, special feature-packed Twin Peaks release (we dove into here), but today we’re looking at his biggest project, Dune. Released in 1984, following Eraserhead and The Elephant Man, the adaptation of the Frank Herbert novel cost around $40 million, but made a little over $30 million.

In a somewhat noble attempt to connect with audiences, Universal gave some audiences a glossary hand-out to help acquaint them with this strange world. Seen below via i09, those that believe films should stand completely on their own likely won’t find favor with this piece of paper, but it makes for a fun collectible. Check it out below, along with a handful of videos featuring Lynch discuss the film that he calls “75% a failure” due to his lack of final cut.
