I wouldn’t be surprised if 2012 breaks the record for highest-grossing year at the theaters. Sure, VOD is taking off and people are staying home to watch their content, but the amount of high-profile blockbusters is staggering. Just like every year, most will likely turn out be crap, but for now we can stay in denial and look at these pretty pictures USA Today have provided.

They range from Bilbo is walking in Mirkwood (thanks to our own Nick Newman for that nerd tip) in Peter Jackson‘s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey to a new snap of Noomi Rapace in Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus (my most anticipated of the bunch), as well as a still of Pixar’s fantasy tale Brave.

There is also our first look at Benjamin Walker in Timur Bekmambetov‘s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which I fully expect to be the bomb of the summer (well, except for Battleship). Have we learned nothing from the genre-mixing of Cowboys & Aliens? We also have a new still of Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith in Men In Black III, as well as images from The Avengers and Snow White and the Huntsman. Check them all out below.

Which blockbuster are you anticipating the most out of the ones above? (Note: The Dark Knight Rises is not included.)
