The first of the major awards ceremonies for the year kicked off tonight with the 2012 Gotham Independent Film Awards and we’ve got a full list of winners. The top two awards of the evening went to Wes Anderson‘s latest Moonrise Kingdom and the AIDS activist documentary How to Survive a Plague, both beating out such films as The Master and Room 237. In the surprising arena, the Your Sister’s Sister trio of Emily Blunt, Rosemarie Dewitt and Mark Duplass beat out other much-buzzed films like Moonrise Kingdom and Silver Linings Playbook for Best Ensemble. Newcomer Benh Zeitlin also won two directing awards for his Sundance hit Beasts of the Southern Wild, one being the inagural Bingham Ray Award for $25,000, while the other was breakthrough director. Lastly, Jared Leto‘s documentary Artifact took home the audience award and one can see the full list of winners below in red.
