Variety reports that Zero Gravity Films is teaming with Castlight Pictures for I Will Follow You Into the Dark, an indie romance/thriller starring Mischa Barton (who you probably remember most from her stint on the Fox show The O.C., a show which we all like to pretend we didn’t watch but actually did). The movie follows Barton’s character, depressed after the death of her parents, as she forms an unexpected romance with a new man.

When he disappears she, and I quote, “pursues him – even if it means walking across the threshold into death.” So she’s going to get into drugs? Or is she going to murder someone? Since it’s being called a thriller, either of those possibilities are valid at this point. Leah Pipes, Ryan Eggold, and Jaz Martin are also signed on to star from a script by Mark Robinson who will also be directing.

Zero Gravity only has one movie to its credit, 2009’s short Drawing from Life while Castlight has a whopping two including last year’s The Levenger Tapes. I have not seen either, so I’m unaware of the quality of these movies but if we’re being honest I wouldn’t be surprised if I Will Follow You Into the Dark ended up going the VOD/direct to DVD route.

What do you think of I Will Follow You Into the Dark? Do you think Mischa Barton can eventually reach her potential or has her ship sailed?
