With a tumultuous relationship that rivals Hollywood’s greatest, Megan Fox and Michael Bay are finally back in business together. After a fallout following Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen — in which Fox compared the director to Hitler — she was awkwardly shoved out of the third film in the trilogy. But now, according to Bay himself, she has returned to his domain for another film.

While it won’t be directed by Bay, he is producing Paramount’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot and has given Fox a major role. According to Variety, Evil Dead star Jane Levy, Pitch Perfect’s Anna Kendrick and Martha Marcy May Marlene‘s Elizabeth Olsen all dodged a major bullet, as Fox beat them out to portray the character of reporter April O’Neil.

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, who last gave us Battle: Los Angeles, the project has gone through some necessary budget changes (down to a measly $125 million), as well as some script adjustments (hopefully fixing all of the reported problems). Just when Fox showed a bit of range in This is 40 and certainly Friends with Kids, it’s quite disappointing to see her jump unto what will likely be a mindless blockbuster, but one can’t fault her for taking the big payday.

The film is now set for a May 2014 release and stay tuned, as a male lead will be cast soon, joining a motion-captured Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Donatello and Raphael.
