It seems that French actress Marion Cotillard has it all: beauty, an Oscar and now the possibility of starring in David Dobkin‘s drama Arthur & Lancelot. According to Vulture, Cotillard has been offered the role of Arthur’s half-sister, Morgana.

If Cotillard accepts the role, she would star along side Kit Harington and Joel Kinnaman in the roles of Arthur and Lancelot respectively. Morgana is also a sorcerer who is typically portrayed as an antagonist, which could see Cotillard returning to her darker roots, something she explored in Inception. There is also a possibility that Gary Oldman may flaunt his acting talents in the adaptation as the iconic wizard Merlin, which could be awesome.

Dobkin, who has also written the screenplay, is most known for directing comedies like Wedding Crashes and The Change-Up, which are all far cries from the fantasy world of the Round Table. There isn’t much we know about the plot of the film as of now but if Dobkin can nab an actress like Cotillard, the acting could very well outshine his directing, and even his script. Cotillard will be seen next in possibly the most-anticipated movie of 2012 The Dark Knight Rises, as well as Jacques Audiard‘s mystery Rust and Bone.

Arthur & Lancelot hits theaters March 15th, 2013.
