‘Lovelace’ Adds Chloe Sevigny to Cast; Demi Moore Replacement Still Not Found

Written by on January 25, 2012

Lovelace may have lost a Demi Moore, but it just gained a much better actress. THR reports that Chloë Sevigny has signed on to the movie, in the role of a feminist journalist who is sent to interview the legendary porn star (played by Amanda Seyfried) and find out the real person behind the legend. The role Moore was to play, that of activist Gloria Steinem, has yet to be recast. But, considering we’re only a day removed, that shouldn’t be too surprising.

Directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, Lovelace has one hell of an ensemble cast including Hank Azaria, Adam Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, Debi Mazar, Wes Bentley,Romeo Brown, Robert Patrick, and Eric Roberts. Peter Saarsgard will be co-starring as Lovelace’s controlling husband, Chuck Traynor, and James Franco will have a cameo as Playboy founder Hugh Hefner.

The film is currently shooting in Los Angeles and will hopefully see release sometime this year. And if one Linda Lovelace biopic isn’t enough (you dirty, dirty man), Inferno: A Linda Lovelace, starring Malin Akerman as the porn star, is currently in pre-production and is looking to be released next year. The ’90s saw competing disaster movies; this ’10s are seeing competing porn star biopics. The 21st Century wins.

Any interest in Lovelace as a story, or are you going into with the dirtiest of intentions? You can admit it. Only me (and the cops) will see it.
