Liam Neeson & Woody Harrelson May Kill Bonnie & Clyde For ‘The Blind Side’ Director

Written by on April 10, 2013

Evident in any number of his recent movies, Liam Neeson has perfected a very specific skill, one that involves the death of anyone that comes in his way. For a new upcoming project, however, it may not just be forgettable baddies on the other side of his gun, but rather one of the most iconic duos to grace the screen.

According to Deadline, he’s being courted alongside Woody Harrelson to take the roles of Texas Rangers, led by Frank Hamer, who searched and (spoilers!) eventually put an end to the lives of Bonnie and Clyde, famously captured in Hollywood by Arthur Penn in the 1967 classic. Produced by Media Rights Capital and Universal Picture, Highwaymen will be directed by John Lee Hancock, who gave us The Blind Side and has the Walt Disney drama Saving Mr. Banks coming out at the end of the year.

He would segue right into this project, which is scripted by John Fusco (Hidalgo, Young Guns), and is looking to kick off production early next year. The idea of Neeson and Harrelson teaming up as two gun-toting Depression Era lawmen has us quite intrigued, but Hancock has us less enthused. Clearly new territory for the director, we hope he can prove us wrong with what will likely be a violent tale.
