‘Jack Ryan’ Takes Nonso Anozie Into Orbit; Adam Rodriguez Goes to ‘About Last Night’

Written by on September 19, 2012

We know about Chris Pine, Kenneth Branagh, Keira Knightley, and Kevin Costner; with just them, Jack Ryan should already be fine on the thespian level. Still, there are additions to be made — unless they’re taking a thriller rooted in the world of Tom Clancy to make something akin to Carnage — and BlackFilm have word on another addition.

It’s now being learned that Nonso Anozie (The Grey, Game of Thrones) is coming under Branagh‘s watch on Jack Ryan, having been set to play… someone. Which is another way of saying that, no, we haven’t a slight idea what kind of part the actor — who I’ve liked on the HBO series — is taking on. Wait and be patient.

Another little tidbit (has there ever been a big tidbit?) comes from Variety, whereat one can hear that Adam Rodriguez (Magic Mike) is now a part of About Last Night, the Steve Pink-helmed remake of the ’80s semi-classic. While not a member of the primary quartet — that would be Michael Ealy, Joy Bryant, Kevin Hart, and Regina Hall — we’ll be seeing him as a “former lover and colleague” to the main female protagonist, a woman whose new love must face the outside comments from her close friends.

We thought it was actually called Sexual Perversity in Chicago, but the title has since been reverted, possibly because this is set in Los Angeles. Life’s too short to dwell any further, so let’s just get down to a couple more details: Pink will begin shooting About Last Night in no short time, with the comedy expecting to come sometime next year.

Are you happy with what either film is doing, cast-wise?
