According to recent reports, director Seth Gordon and the trio of Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis and Jason Bateman will all be getting back together for a Horrible Bosses sequel, but following that, the group have set their sights on another project, one where they’ll lose a member of their team. Following the recent box-office success of Identity Thief, despite an overall critical lashing, Universal Pictures has set Gordon on a new comedy.

The Hollywood Reporter lets us know that the director will be bringing back Day and Sudeikis for the project, titled One Night on the Hudson. Leaving the hard-working Bateman behind, the script comes from Todd Fixman, who previously worked on the Ratchet & Clank videogame series. While its still aiming to hit the funny bone, the film will segue into thriller territory as well, as we follow a straight-laced cop, who is literally doing his duty for the first time, while his partner is an older, satiated fellow. They must move “a federal witness from New Jersey to Manhattan. The only things standing between them: dirty cops, dirty criminals and the Hudson River.”

As a fan of Horrible Bosses, mostly due to its cast and snappy tone, it’s definitely a plus that Gordon is bringing back two of the funniest elements of that film. But don’t expect this one for awhile, as this year, Gordon will be occupied with shooting a follow-up to his 2011 hit.

What do you think of this concept and the team (partially getting back together)?
