Update: Variety also reports that James Franco is in talks to reunite with his Howl directors and do a small cameo as Playboy founder Hugh Hefner in the film. He was originally circling the Chuck Traynor role, but don’t expect him to have a big cameo role, as he will only shoot for one day. Check out the original story below.

Lovelace, the story of the sexual revolution and the birth of the feminist movement as viewed through the experiences of Deep Throat actress Linda Lovelace, has added four new performers to its already impressive cast. According to Variety, producers on the film have confirmed that Hank Azaria, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, and Bobby Cannavale have all been signed to join the film, which will be directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.

Amanda Seyfried will be playing the titular role of Linda Lovelace (born Linda Boreman), who became an erotic superstar following her starring role in the notorious porn film Deep Throat. Azaria will assume the role of her co-star, Jerry Damiano. Peter Sarsgaard will play pornographer Chuck Traynor, her husband. Robert Patrick will be playing the role of her father. Noth and Cannavale will portray Anthony Romano and Butchie Peraino, the financiers of Deep Throat.

These actors will be joined by previously announced cast members, including Wes Bentley as Lovelace‘s second husband, Sharon Stone as her mother, and Juno Temple as her best friend. This film is the second Linda Lovelace film in production, being followed by Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story, which will be directed by Matthew Wilder. That film was to feature Lindsay Lohan in the starring role before she was replaced by Malin Ackerman, who will star alongside Matt Dillon, Sasha Grey, and Paz de la Huerta.

Lovelace is set for release sometime in 2012, while Inferno is slated for 2013 release.

Given the respective casts, which of these Lovelace-based films are you most excited for?
