Kong Skull Island

Coming off her Oscar win for Room, Brie Larson find herself heading to the jungle for her next feature. Kong: Skull Island, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kings of Summer) is the rebirth of the franchise, leading up to what will be a square-off between King Kong and Godzilla in mash-up to debut in 2020. Also starring Tom Hiddleston, Toby Kebbell, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John C. Reilly, Tom Wilkinson, Thomas Mann, John Goodman, and Samuel L. Jackson, the first peek at the film has arrived thanks to a featurette.

It gives us a glimpse of the story and setting as we follow a ragtag group who venture to a remote island to discover Kong. We also get the first character details, with Larson playing a peace activist and photojournalist, Hiddleston taking the role of a former British SAS officer, Hawkins and Mitchell as soldiers. It looks to have major scale, especially considering what Vogt-Roberts last did. Check it out below, along with a new featurette from Luc Besson’s sci-fi epic Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, starring Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne, also arriving next year.

Kong: Skull Island opens on March 10th, 2017 and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets opens on July 21st, 2017.
