With the news that six minutes of The Dark Knight Rises will play before Brad Bird‘s Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol in 70mm IMAX, one could hear the ticket pre-orders ring out across the world. It seems like Paramount has taken a backseat with poster marketing, mostly showing off Tom Cruise and that dusty hoodie. Both are back with the latest one-sheet via Yahoo, but co-stars Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Paula Patton are now along for the ride.

A new trailer will hit Thursday but one can see the new faux-gritty poster below for the film also starring Josh Holloway, Michael Nyqvist, Vladimir Mashkov, Lea Seydoux and Anil Kapoor, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol hits IMAX theaters on December 16th, before opening everywhere on the 21st.

Focus Features and the Laika animation group are teaming up again after the wonderfully vibrant Coraline for what sounds to be incredibly awesome: a stop-motion zombie comedy. We have the first Paranorman teaser poster today from Yahoo with the first teaser coming this Friday.

I know very little about this one, but the concept is great for this team, which includes directors Sam Fell and Chris Butler (also writer), who have worked on Corpse Bride, The Tale of Despereaux and Flushed Away. The voice cast is also stellar with Casey Affleck, Anna Kendrick, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Leslie Mann, Jeff Garlin and John Goodman. Check out a synopsis below, followed by the poster for the film hitting theaters August 17th, 2012.

When a small town comes under siege by zombies, who can it call? Only misunderstood local boy Norman, who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, he’ll have to take on ghosts, witches and, worst, of all, grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. But this young ghoul whisperer may find his paranormal activities pushed to their otherworldly limits.

Lastly, but definitely not least we have the first poster for one of my favorite films of the year, Werner Herzog‘s Into the Abyss. The director himself demanded a release this year after Sundance Selects initially picked up the death row documentary for a bow next year. But his wishes were granted and it will hit on November 11th, 2011. Designed to “look into the deepest recesses of the human soul,” one can see the poster below from The Wrap and check back for a likely trailer premiere soon.

Which poster do you like most? What film is on the top of your must-see list?
