With a cast including Chris Cooper, Benedict Cumberbatch, Juliette Lewis, Ewan McGregor, Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep, it’s hard not to at least be intrigued at the prospects of the upcoming adaptation of Tracy Letts‘ August: Osage County. While we’d rather see William Friedkin at the helm after his work on Killer Joe and Bug, it’s director John Wells (The Company Men), that is bringing it to the screen this November.

Unfortunately our first teaser from the film, which follows the Weston family in crisis, is wildly underwhelming. This ugly, plain debut poster is clearly just selling its stars and we sincerely hope it doesn’t fall into the trappings of awards bait, but with The Weinstein Company behind the campaign, expect it to only ratchet up from here on out. Check it out below, along with the disappointing final poster for Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring and a new one-sheet from the Toby Jones-led thriller Berberian Sound Studio.  [Yahoo/Fandango/EW]

What do you think of the above posters? Which film are you most looking forward to?
