After proving his serious acting chops in recent films such as Shame, Jane Eyre and even Prometheus, Michael Fassbender is finally set to unleash his funny bone for a new music-based comedy. After shooting kicked off earlier this month, the first look has arrive for the film titled Frank. Above one can see the Inglourious Basterds actor, or at least part of him, alongside co-stars Domhnall Gleeson (Anna Karenina) and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Scripted by Jon Ronson (The Men Who Stare at Goats) and Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), the project follows an aspiring musician (Gleeson) who finds himself in over his head when he joins an eccentric rock band led by Fassbender’s character, along with Gyllenhaal. Also starring Scoot McNairy (Argo, Killing Them Softly), the film is directed by Lenny Abrahamson.

While that name may not be familiar to many, he last helmed What Richard Did, a small drama starring upcoming Transformers 4 lead Jack Reynor.
