[First Look] Jemaine Clement Recalls ‘Easy Rider’ as ‘Men in Black III’ Villain

Written by on January 3, 2012

The teaser for Men in Black III was, apropos of its moniker, just a tiny peek at the film. You weren’t getting much of the story, character work (if there is any in the final product) or even time to get acquainted with the leads — other than those we’ve seen twice over.

Poor Jemaine Clement.

But, less than a month later, our first look at the Flight of the Conchords member in his Easy Rider-inspired villain garb has appeared at NZOnline (via ThePlaylist).

It is — like everything else relating to this film, up to and probably past its release — underwhelming but inoffensive. Now, to be fair, the actor notes that he plays “an alien with prosthetics” that makes him appear “hideous”; we’re not getting the full picture at the moment. (And I’m sure he’ll be plenty funny in the part — when you take his past work into account, at least.) Nevertheless, I can’t be bothered to deliver much of a reaction past “Well, there you go.” So, yes, there you go.

Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, and also starring Alice Eve, Rip Torn, Emma Thompson, and Michael StuhlbargMen in Black III will open on May 25th, 2012.

Does this first look at Clement make you react in any way?
