If things went as planned, we’d be seeing Baz Luhrmann‘s latest lavish project, an adaptation of The Great Gatsby, in mere days, but alas, Warner Bros. switched up its schedule and set the film for a summer debut. With a new trailer rumored to arrive by year’s end, we’ve got a few new images from the film. Above one can see Leonardo DiCaprio and co-star Carey Mulligan together in F. Scott Fitzgerald‘s adaptation, while below the studio has debuted a new poster with our first look at Isla Fisher, who stars in the film alongside Tobey Maguire, Jason Clarke, Amitabh Bachchan and Joel Edgerton.
We’ve also got the first images from the studio other big summer comedy, after The Hangover Part III. From Dodgeball director Rawson Marshall Thurber, We’re The Millers stars Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis and Emma Roberts, and the first looks at our main trio have landed today. The action comedy is follows a pot dealer (Sudeikis) who gets in way over his head and one can see the new images below, along with a full synopsis, for the film also starring Nick Offerman, Kathryn Hahn, Will Poulter and Ed Helms.
David Burke (Jason Sudeikis) is a small-time pot dealer whose clientele includes chefs and soccer moms, but no kids—after all, he has his scruples. So what could go wrong? Plenty. Preferring to keep a low profile for obvious reasons, he learns the hard way that no good deed goes unpunished when he tries to help out some local teens and winds up getting jumped by a trio of gutter punks. Stealing his stash and his cash, they leave him in major debt to his supplier, Brad (Ed Helms). In order to wipe the slate clean—and maintain a clean bill of health—David must now become a big-time drug smuggler by bringing Brad’s latest shipment in from Mexico. Twisting the arms of his neighbors, cynical stripper Rose (Jennifer Aniston) and wannabe customer Kenny (Will Poulter), and the tatted-and-pierced streetwise teen Casey (Emma Roberts), he devises a foolproof plan. One fake wife, two pretend kids and a huge, shiny RV later, the “Millers” are headed south of the border for a Fourth of July weekend that is sure to end with a bang.
The Great Gatsby arrives on May 10th, while We’re The Millers lands on August 9th.
