After taking a short break, Natalie Portman will be returning in a major way this year. Not only is she leading our most-anticipated film of the year, Knight of Cups, but she’s also directed and written her feature debut, A Tale of Love and Darkness, which we expect on the festival circuit. There’s also another project we’re quite curious about considering all the behind-the-scenes change-ups.
Once set to be directed by Lynne Ramsay, Warrior helmer Gavin O’Connor stepped in at the last minute to take over the western Jane Got a Gun. After a few casting switch-ups (Michael Fassbender and Jude Law both departed) and delays, it’ll finally be arriving early this fall, specifically on September 4th, 2015.
The first images have now arrived (thanks to the producers), which at the very least display that the title is correct. Also starring Ewan McGregor, his character leads an outlaw gang that tracks down the husband of Portman’s character, Jane. For defense, she grabs the help of a former flame played by Joel Edgerton and chaos ensues. Also starring Noah Emmerich, Boyd Holbrook and Rodrigo Santoro, we’ll be looking forward to the trailer and in the meantime, one can check out the images above and below.
Are you looking forward to the western?
