Christopher Nolan Rounds Out Cast for Action Epic ‘Tenet’

Written by on May 22, 2019

With production getting underway shortly for Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming action epic, we now have a confirmed cast and a titled, along with a few more details. Starring John David Washington, Elizabeth Debicki, and Robert Pattinson, along with the newly-added Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kenneth Branagh, Clémence Poésy, Dimple Kapadia, and Michael Caine, the film, which evolves from the “world of international espionage,” will be titled Tenet.

The word is defined as “a principle or belief, especially one of the main principles of a religion or philosophy.” While no details have been unveiled if those ideas will work their way into the plot, knowing Nolan, bets are safe the film’s structure may play off the palindrome structure and the notions it brings up.

Shot across seven countries (with rumored locales including Italy, Estonia, and India), he will once again utilize a mix of IMAX and 70mm. Shot by returning cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema, it’ll mark the first time he teams with editor Jennifer Lame (Hereditary, Manchester by the Sea) and composer Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther) as Hans Zimmer is occupied with Dune.

Tenet opens on July 17, 2020. [Variety]
