We reported back in September that Hollywood has decided to make a biopic of the famous gangsta rap group N.W.A. With John Singleton out as director and moving onto other projects, three other directors were brought in to possibily helm the project — Friday‘s F. Gary Gray, Friday Night LightsPeter Berg and Hustle & FlowsCraig Brewer. But on a completely non-director related note, we’ve learned that the children of the N.W.A rappers have a chance of playing their own fathers in the biopic.

We’ve seen two of the founding N.W.A members make their way onto the big screen — most notably Ice Cube, with his roles in Friday and Are We There Yet? Dr. Dre has also graced the red carpet with his small role in Training Day as well as on TV promoting his line of (over priced) headphones. With most of the remaining members in their 40’s, it only makes sense to have their 20-something kids play themselves in the currently untitled biopic. Eazy-E, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre all have children, with most of them already following in their father’s rapping footsteps.

TMZ  found Dre outside a restaurant in LA recently, where they asked him about the project. Remaining coy, Dre didn’t exactly confirm that their children would be playing the roles, but he said that “they were talking about it and they’d see what happen[s].” It could be bad move to choose some well-known actors to play such influential rappers, so this might work. The big trouble with casting a movie like this is that these aren’t your run of the mill, money making rappers; they’re the rappers that changed the music industry forever and getting the casting wrong could make a lot of people angry.
