Bryan Cranston and Édgar Ramírez Join Naomi Watts In Errol Morris’ ‘Holland, Michigan’

Written by on February 23, 2014

Although he’s primarily known for his eye-opening, investigative documentaries, Errol Morris will soon be returning to narrative filmmaking for the first time since 1991’s The Dark Wind. Following his Rumsfield documentary The Unknown Known, the filmmaker is beginning production shortly on the thriller Holland, Michigan. With Naomi Watts already set in the lead role, we now have two more additions to the cast.

Revealed in a Reddit AMA, the director says that Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston and Édgar Ramírez (Carlos) have joined the ensemble. Scripted by Andrew Sodroski, the drama, described in the vein of Fargo, finds Watts playing an wife who starts an affair after she suspects her husband is cheating on her, only to learn that her spouse is a serial killer.

While their specific roles aren’t revealed, we could easily see Cranston taking on the husband character, but we’ll have to wait for confirmation. With this strong trio set to lead, production kicks off in April for a likely 2015 release.

What do you think of the recent cast additions?
