‘Bangkok Dangerous’ Writer to Pen ‘MacGyver’

Written by on May 21, 2010

MacGruber may be hitting theaters but the bases for the parody may seem to be having a film of its own. Jason Richman who did Bangkok Dangerous, Swing Vote, and Bad Company was hired by Warner Bros./New Line to write the script for the bigscreen adaptation. [via /Film]

Outside of two made-for-TV movies, the character disappeared aside from a few appearances, one in the SNL parody itself. Could there be a role for MacGruber in it? And what of the screen writer, Richman? His resume looks rather weak, but then again, it may be fitting for a movie based on a 1980’s show.

Is MacGyver really that necessary to remake?
