With franchises such as V/H/S and ABCs of Death taking off as of late, the producers behind The Raid and House of the Devil are spearheading a female-driven horror anthology. Titled XX, MPI/Dark Sky Films and XYZ Films have recruited a handful of experienced helmers in the genre and are now seeking the female-led cast, The Wrap reports.

On the directing roster is Jennifer Lynch (yes, daughter of David), American Psycho helmer Mary Harron, Karyn Kusama of Girlfight and Jennifer’s Body, Jen and Sylvia Soska (Dead Hooker In a Trink) and  Jovanka Vuckovic (The Captured Bird). Bridging everything together will be Sofia Carrillo, a stop-motion animator who will also create the title sequence.

“One of the givens of so many horror films has been the objectification of young women, and we thought it was time for a different approach to scaring audiences and letting the female voice be heard,” said producer Todd Brown, who also runs TwitchFilm.com. We’re definitely down for this idea and having enjoyed at least a few segments in the recent anthologies, hopefully each helmer will bring their own unique voice for something truly gruesome and/or terrifying.

What female stars should lead the anthology?
