Today we have the first posters for two documentary festival favorites. One has already been on a long journey, premiering at SXSW last year, getting distribution, then locked into one of the five Oscar-nominated documenataries and arriving in theaters next week. The other recently had its premiere this month at Berlin Film Festival to favorable reviews and will be hitting this Spring. We’ll focus on the former first, Dan Lindsay and T.J. Martin’s Undefeated.

I recently had a chance to check out the film – which follows the down-trodden football team at an inner-city Memphis – and I was astounded. It is a tender story of simple humanity and even though I’m not a football fan, it was one of the best documentaries I’ve seen recently. Check out a great debut below via FirstShowing and the trailer here if you missed it, for the film arriving on February 17th in limited theaters.

We’ve also got the first poster for Kevin Macdonald‘s Bob Marley reggae documentary simply titled Marley. The film, which recently premiered at Berlin Film Festival to mostly great reviews, was quickly snatched up by Magnolia Pictures for the perfect release of April 20th, on VOD and theaters. Bob Marley‘s son, Ziggy, called the work “the ultimate revelation of my father’s life,” one which has also made his family “proud to be able to have the world finally experience this emotional journey.” The poster below via MTV incorporates the iconic image we’ve all seen, perfectly fitting for this documentary.

Do you plan on checking out Undefeated? What about Marley? Are you a fan of their posters?
