I hold the belief that you should never call a movie “good” or “bad” until you see the actual thing for yourself. It’s just good form, you know? But you can decide if something looks “good” or “bad,” and you’re almost encouraged to do so; essentially all film marketing is based on making you think that something looks appealing, and if you don’t, the film at hand is in trouble.

This is all being said because, for the love of all that is holy, I do not want to see The Three Stooges. Some love the short films and comedic trio that this is taking its influence from; I’m not one of those people. Furthermore, Peter and Bobby Farrelly are a team that comes across as mostly unappealing, as do the actors portraying the titular leads. Oh, this feels like it was made expressly for me to never see.

The first poster and peek at Sean Hayes, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Will Sasso have appeared at the movie’s official site (via RopeofSilicon). Although it’s nothing more than a teaser — and, therefore, not meant to get people like myself jazzed — it already feels like too much. You can see the poster below; the 20th Century Fox logo is apparently cropped for comedic purposes, which baffles me. And then you have the picture above, which… I can’t, you guys. I just can’t.

Also starring Larry David, Sofia Vergara, Jane Lynch, and Jennifer Hudson, The Three Stooges opens on April 4th, 2012.

Are you looking forward to The Three Stooges? What impression is given by these first materials?
