One of the most exciting film festivals of the year, the Toronto International Film Festival, is about to start and we’re seeing some trailers pop up for the titles selected to play. One of these trailers is for a film called Barney’s Version, featuring actors such as Paul Giamatti, Dustin Hoffman, Minnie Driver, Rachelle Lefevre, and Bruce Greenwood. You can view the trailer below thanks to RopeofSilicon.
The plot is as follows: “Take a ride through the life and memories of Barney Panofsky (Giamatti), a hard-drinking, cigar-smoking, foulmouthed 65-year old hockey fanatic and television producer, as he reflects on his life’s successes and (numerous) gaffes and failures as the final chapters of his own existence come sharply into focus.”
I like the trailer overall, mostly because of the presence of Giamatti and Hoffman, and despite the presence of Minnie Driver. And really, who doesn’t love neurotic Jews? I know I do!
Barney’s Version will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival but has no distributor yet.
