Just last month we got some wild-looking first stills from the next film by Rob Cohen (xXx, Stealth), which hinted at a possible return to the fun arena the Harvard grad found himself in for The Fast and the Furious director. But with the first trailer arriving for Alex Cross, the next film based on James Patterson‘s best-selling detective series, it’s looking like another low-rent, silly action drama that’s surprisingly heading to theaters.
Starring Tyler Perry as Cross, he teams with his partner (Ed Burns) and they need to track down Fox’s character Michael Sullivan, a ruthless assassin who murders Cross’ wife. Also starring Rachel Nichols, Giancarlo Esposito and Jean Reno, the cheesy factor here is too much to take. I’m sure Fox will deliver something worth watching, but I can’t say the same for the rest.
