Premiering at Tribeca Film Festival this year, Loitering With Intent follows two writers (Michael Godere and Ivan Martin, who, in a meta turn, also wrote the script) that have a short window of financing to complete a screenplay for their hopefully break-out feature. Most notable, however, is its supporting cast, which includes Marisa Tomei, Sam Rockwell, Natasha Lyonne, and Brian Geraghty. We’ve now got the first trailer for the film ahead of a theatrical release early next year.

We said in our review, “As the conflict surrounding Dominic and Raphael’s characters comes to a head — with both the latter’s fondness for Gigi (his former girlfriend) and the creative struggles between the two — Rapp effectively builds to a worthwhile climax without bringing anything new to the table. While the lead-up could have been more focused, Loitering with Intent is mildly pleasing dramedy that proves a gifted supporting cast can do wonders for a modest production.” Check out the trailer and poster below for the film directed by Adam Rapp.

When out-of-work-actors Raphael (Ivan Martin) and Dominic (Michael Godere) hustle a prominent New York producer into believing they’ve written a hot movie script, they have 10 days to deliver the goods or lose their last opportunity for a big break. Hoping to escape the bustle of New York City to write in peace, the duo head to the upstate country home of Dom’s sister Gigi (Marisa Tomei). But their writer’s retreat descends into bacchanalian romp when Gigi’s hostile boyfriend Wayne (Sam Rockwell) and his younger brother Devon (Brian Geraghty) bring old flames and simmering grudges to a head for the group. As yearnings for love and familial dynamics threaten to derail their career-making opportunity, will Raph and Dom’s friendship survive the creative process?
