After delivering one of the most striking, effective films of the last few years with The Arbor, director Clio Barnard has returned with a new drama, which is currently making its way through the major festivals. After premiering at Directors Fortnight at Cannes, then recently showing up at TIFF, the first trailer has landed today.

Based on the Oscar Wilde story, The Selfish Giant follows two trouble-making boys (Conner Chapman and Shaun Thomas) who start stealing copper cable and it looks like a stellar follow-up for Barnard. Sundance Selects haven’t set a U.S. release date yet, the film will hit U.K. theaters on October 25th and one can see the trailer and poster below, with three clips over here if you missed them.

Update: Watch the slightly different U.S. trailer as IFC Films have announced a theatrical release for December 20th and VOD bow three days prior.
