Depending on your location, it’s possible you’ve had winters that simply feel like they’ll never end, with a torrential, continuous downpour of snow (although, perhaps not so much as of late). For Laurence Fishburne, Bill Paxton and Kevin Zegers, they are living the nightmare, as their latest thriller sees them in a world where this weather never let up.

More or less chronicling a new ice age, the thriller The Colony, from co-writer/director Jeff Renfroe, has now debuted its first trailer. Sporting some nice setpieces and visuals for what’s clearly an independent effort, hopefully this hits the right B-movie vibe. Though if you want to see The Colony, you’ll have to visit the snow-covered Canada on April 12th as no other dates have been assigned yet. Check out the trailer and poster below for the film also starring Charlotte Sullivan, John Tench and Atticus Mitchell.

Synopsis:

The futuristic film is set during the next ice age, as a scattering of outpost colonists struggle to survive below the world’s frozen surface, which are running seriously short on food supplies, leading to illness and internal conflict. After losing contact with Colony 5, Colony 7′s leader Briggs (Laurence Fishburne) decides to lead an expedition to uncover the reasons, however, the team discover a threat much worse than nature and must battle to save themselves and protect their fellow colonists in what could be humanity’s last stand.
