While the Meet the Spartans duo attempt to poke fun at The Hunger Games in their next planned parody film, it’s time for the Scary Movie gang to pick up what’s left. In the half-a-decade gap since the fourth film, there’s been plenty of options to take a stab at and with that, we’ve got the trailer for Scary Movie 5.
The main story follows a Black Swan riff, but as we can see here, Inception and Paranormal Activity are also at the other end of the “jokes.” Considering Marlon Wayans is delivering an entire parody film based on the latter next month, I don’t quite see the need for the horror spin, but the general rule here is if it makes money, it will get made fun of.
If you are a fan of the series, this one seems like a considerable step down and one can check out the trailer below via MTV for the film starring Ashley Tisdale, Lindsay Lohan, Charlie Sheen, Molly Shannon, Terry Crews, Heather Locklear, Kate Walsh, Mike Tyson, Katt Williams and many more.
Synopsis:
Snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed French dance company director Pierre is putting on a new production. Jody (Tisdale), a Caucasian late-20s mother of two and her late-20s African American friend Kendra (Ash) are both vying for the lead in the production. Jody’s extremely controlling former dancer mother is determined that Jody will have the brilliant career that eluded her. The highly skilled mid-30s Diva veteran dancer with the company, Heather Daltry (Shannon), gets cut from the production and goes berserk.
Scary Movie 5 hits theaters on April 12th.

With this year’s Cannes Film Festival halfway done, one of the clear highlights is Coens‘ 1960′s-set folk music tale Inside Llewyn Davis.
