One of the more well-recieved titles at Toronto Interntational Film Festival that I missed was the next film from Chocolat and Cider House Rules director Lasse Hallstrom. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen was one of the first acquisitions of the fest, promptly picked up by CBS Films. I’ve heard the terms “heartwarming” and “friendly” thrown around for this crowdpleaser written by Slumdog Millionaire’s Simon Beaufoy. The trailer hints at just that, providing just enough charm, while Emily Blunt can create chemistry like few other actress, especially in The Adjustment Bureau this year. The cast also includes Ewan McGregor, Kristin Scott Thomas, Amr Waked and Rachel Stirling. Check it out below via Yahoo.

Synopsis:

A fisheries expert is approached by a consultant to help realize a sheik’s vision of bringing the sport of fly-fishing to the desert and embark son an upstream journey of faith and fish to prove the impossible, possible.

Salmon Fishing In Yemen hits theaters March 2nd, 2012.
